Yehudit Kafri

Yehudit Kafri was born in 1936 at Kibbutz Ein Hahoresh which her parents helped found, and has been a member of both Kibbutz Sasa in Galilee, and Kibbutz Shoval in the Negev. She studied at universities in Israel and the U.S. A poet and fiction writer, Kafri worked for many years as an editor and translator at Sifriat Poalim Publishing House, and now writes literary reviews for Iton 77. Kafri has received a number of literary awards, among which the Tel Aviv Foundation Award (1973), the Prime Minister`s Prize (1987), the Rachel Prize (1993), the ACUM Prize (2003) and the President`s Prize (2005).
