Rivka Keren

Rivka Keren was born in Hungary in 1946 and came to Israel as a young child. Her first books describe her experiences as the only Jewish child in her school, the atmosphere in an Iron Curtain country, and her family`s secret preparations for emigration. Keren, a clinical psychologist, is also a painter and has held exhibitions both in Israel and abroad. She has published four novels and many books for children. Keren is the recipient of the Ze`ev Prize (1988), the Nordau Prize, the Kugel Prize, and received an Honorable Mention at the Austrian Children and Juveniles Book Award (2000).
