Adula (Sabina Messeg) |
Adula (Sabina Messeg) was born in Sofia, Bulgaria in 1942, and came to Israel with her family in 1948. She grew up in Jaffa, then studied Hebrew and English literature at Tel Aviv University and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She now lives and works in a small village in the Galilee. Messeg is an eco-poet, translator and critic. She has published three books of poetry and - as Adula - 18 books for children. Messeg has received the Newman Prize (1982), the Ze`ev Prize (1994), the Hadassah Prize, and the Leah Goldberg Prize.
