Dudi Busi

Dudi Busi was born in 1969 in the Hatikva neighborhood, a disadvantaged but colorful part of Tel Aviv and the location of his first novel. His family moved to another area when he was 13. While still at school, Busi started running the family restaurant. Later, he studied acting and performed in several plays and movies before turning to writing in 1998. Busi now writes for several major newspapers and has a regular column in Ha`Ir; he also writes filmscripts. His first two novels, both bestsellers, are being made into feature films. Busi has been awarded the New Fiction Prize (2000) and the Prime Minister`s Prize (2005).
