Dov Elbaum

Dov Elbaum was born to an ultra-Orthodox Jerusalem family in 1970, and was raised in yeshivas. During his army service, he left the ultra-Orthodox lifestyle and served as a military reporter for the soldiers` magazine, Bamahaneh. Later, he studied in special program for gifted students at Tel Aviv University, working concurrently as a journalist for Hadashot and Yedioth Ahronoth. Elbaum has served as editor-in-chief of Yedioth Ahronoth Publishing House. He now hosts a TV talk show and teaches at Tel Aviv University, integrating religious and secular thought through his research and fiction-writing. Elbaum has published a number of research studies and essays as well as two novels. He was awarded the President`s Prize for Young Writers in 2002.
