Sarai Shavit

Sarai Shavit was born in Hod HaSharon, Israel, in 1982 and currently lives in Tel Aviv. She graduated from Tel Aviv University in creative writing, cinema and Hebrew language editing studies. Shavit was editor of the literature department at Ynet, the online outlet for Israel's leading daily Yedioth Ahronoth, and at present she is editor of the foreign fiction department at Matar Publishing House. She also leads creative writing workshops at Tel Aviv Museum of Art and at Eshkol Nevo's and Orit Gidali's writing "Home Workshops", and participates in a literary talk show on Channel 1 TV. After Bruria Productions, Shavit's first work of fiction, which she published at the age of 26, she has published a novel and a book of poetry. Shavit won first prize in the Tel Aviv "Poetry on the Road" project in 2007.
