Motti Awerbuch

Motti Awerbuch, playwright, teacher, theater director and set designer, was born in Haifa in 1948 and now lives in Tel Aviv. His many plays for adults and children have been performed on the stage. In the 1980s, he founded a theater group for classical drama and directed the Third Floor Theater in Jaffa for two years. He has also taught in teachers` colleges and developed curricula for interdisciplinary studies. As a member of the Peace Now movement, Awerbuch has organized Israeli-Palestinian meetings between youth and adult groups, and coordinated activities with Egypt and Jordan. At present, he teaches in the opera department of the Rubin Academy in Jerusalem and works in the Yiddishspiel Theater.
