| Rights/Literary Agency ITHL acts as literary agent to more than 200 leading authors of adult and juvenile Hebrew fiction and poetry for sales of rights to foreign publishers. The authors and the titles represented are described in our Pocket Directory of Israeli Authors and Pocket Directory of Books for Children. Both include biographies, list of books published in Hebrew and information on translations already published abroad. Negotiations and contracts for any of the titles in these catalogues must be conducted through the Institute or its authorised representatives. ITHL holds translation rights for many of the titles it offers for consideration in some instances it acts as agent only. In the case of titles not yet translated into the language required, the publishers may designate their own translators, subject to approval by the Institute. It is of primary concern to us that a high standard of translation is maintained and, where possible, we shall help to assess new translators. |
