Rina Ouziel-Blumenthal was born in Tel Aviv. She received a BA in theater and Hebrew literature at Tel Aviv University and also completed studies in creative education. Ouziel-Blumenthal was an actress for many years, and performed with the Cameri Theater as well as with a number of experimental theater groups. She also participated in a project using acting therapy for children with special needs. Over the years, Ouziel-Blumenthal has published short stories in literary journals such as Proza, Iton 77 and Moznayim. In 2001, she won the ACUM Gold Quill Prize for Invention, Memory.
