Translation Subsidy Program

Publishers who undertake to translate a work of modern Hebrew literature can apply for a subsidy to help with the translation cost. This option is also available to literary journals that devote a special issue (or a special feature within an issue) to modern Hebrew literature, as well as to publishers who wish to publish anthologies.
It is not available to translators wishing to translate a work of Hebrew literature independently and without a publication contract for the work.

Aid is subject to approval by the board of ITHL and the availability of funds.

Application guidelines and application forms can be downloaded below.

Please be advised that the current application round for the ITHL Subsidy Program is about to reach our deadline: applications will be accepted for consideration until October 22, 2018. Further deadlines for future applications will be duly announced.
