Yossi
Waxman was born in
Jaffa in 1959. He studied philosophy and history of art at the Hebrew
University of Jerusalem and also graduated summa cum laude in visual
communication & video art at the Bezalel Academy. As a young artist and
designer, Waxman's works featured in the Israel Museum's Bezalel Centennial
Group Exhibition, at the Memad Gallery, and in alternative spaces. After a
lengthy hiatus, during which he wrote, Waxman moved to Ein Hod artists' village
where he is a member of the Artistic Village Art Jury, and his works are on
permanent display at the Central Gallery. Waxman also owns a design studio
where he produces international award-winning works, package designs, record
covers for Israeli musicians and design book covers.
Waxman has published novels and
children's books. His sixth book, Liebchen, won the ACUM Award for
incognito-submitted works (2003).
