Tamar Hochstadter

Tamar Hochstadter was born in the Western Galilee in 1985. She earned a BA in visual communications from Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design and an MA from Tel Aviv University’s program for Child and Youth Culture Research. Hochstadter’s first book, Cauliflora, won the Ramat Gan Prize for Literature in 2013 and Dono and the Remarkable Things that Happened to Him won the Devorah Omer Prize for children’s literature in 2019. You Won’t Find Me was listed on the Education Ministry’s ‘Parade of Books.’ She has also published Dono Learns What’s Gummy and What’s Funny.

Hochstadter established, and for 10 years edited, an online journal on children’s literature and culture, The Notebook. She has served as editor of translations of books for youth at the Kinneret-Zmora-Dvir publishing house. Since 2020 she has been director of the children’s and youth books department at Am Oved publishers.
