Dahn Ben-Amotz

Dahn Ben-Amotz (1923-1989) was born Moshe Tehilimzeiger, in Poland, and arrived in Israel when he was very young. Ben-Amotz served in the British Army and later, during Israel’s War of Independence, served in the Palmach navy unit. Ben-Amotz, writer, journalist and controversial public figure, is credited with being one of the main creators of the “sabra” (native Israeli) image.
