Daniel Horowitz

Daniel Horowitz, playwright, director and screenwriter, was born in Pardes Hanna, Israel, in 1941. He earned his BA in philosophy and Hebrew literature from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and his MA in theater studies from Tel Aviv University, where he was a lecturer. Since 1995 he teaches in the School of Theater Arts of the Kibbutzim College. He also works as a director in Italy. His plays have been produced in major theaters in Israel, as well as in the USA, italy, France and Germany. Among his awqrds: The Baratz Award for Awakening (1972), the Meskin Award for Cherli Ka-Cherli (1978), the Pinski Award for Yair (1992), the Prime Minister’s Prize (1996) and first prize at The Acco Festival for An Amazing Deed (2000).
