David Rokeah

David Rokeah (1916-1985) was born in Lvov, Poland, and immigrated to Eretz Israel in 1934. After his arrival he worked paving roads and picking oranges. He eventually studied Hebrew literature, law, and finally electrical engineering, which was his chosen profession. Rokeah,s first volume of poems was published in Yiddish, but he soon began writing exclusively in Hebrew. His poems have been translated into 10 languages.
