Eran Viezel

Eran Viezel was born in 1972 at Kibbuitz Netiv Halamed Heh, where he still lives today. He is married to a woman who was also born at the kibbutz, and they have four children. He holds a PhD in Biblical Studies from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and he is a member of the faculty of the Department of Bible, Archaeology and Ancient Near Eastern Studies of Ben Gurion University in Beersheba. His researches are in the field of Jewish biblical interpretation throughout the ages. Viezel only recently began writing poetry and fiction. He has published two books of poetry, We Have Come Far Thus Far (2012) and Awaiting a Wolf (2016), and two novels: In Praise of Loneliness (2016, winner of the Acum Prize for an anonymously submitted work of literature, 2015) and Darom’s File (2018). His books have been highly praised by critics.
