Moshe Sartel

Moshe Sartel was born in 1942 in Istanbul, Turkey. He arrived in Israel as a young child, and now lives in Petah Tikva. Sartel holds a BA in Jewish philosophy, literature and kabbala, and an MA in library science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He also studied military history at Tel Aviv University and directed a network of libraries in Petah Tikva. In 1997 he founded a publishing house that specializes in books on Judaism. He has received the Bernstein Prize (1985), the Wertheim Prize for Poetry (1995), the President’s Prize (1997) and the Prime Minister’s Prize (1999).
