Yali Sobol

Yali Sobol was born in Haifa in 1972. At age 21, he founded the rock band Monica Sex. In 1995, after the success of its first album, the band moved to New York where it became part of the alternative rock scene and released two further albums. In 1998, Sobol also released a solo album which established him as a prominent song writer in Israel. During those years, Sobol started publishing stories in various magazines and anthologies; he also wrote a column for the weekly Tel Aviv and for the monthly art magazine, 42 Degrees. Key Money, Sobol’s second novel, was a bestseller in 2006.
