Friendship at Risk

This is a suspenseful story about the dangers of discrimination, and an unusual frienship. The youngsters that Orgad describes – a new immigrant to Israel and a Palestinian – must cooperate and trust each other in order to prevent a terrorist attack.

Gabriel, 13, recently arrived from Argentina, has trouble assimilating into Israeli society. Hamid is a Palestinian who dreams of becoming a doctor but has given up on school. Instead, he comes to Tel Aviv from his village to work as a gardener. The two boys meet by chance and gradually become friends. When he learns of Hamid’s ambition to be a doctor, Gabriel arranges for his father, who is a surgeon, to tutor him. But this friendship is endangered when Hamid finds out that his brother`s gang is plotting a terrorist attack against Israeli civilians. The two youngsters are able to prevent the catastrophe, while keeping in mind the interests of Hamid`s brother.
