Hadas’s Secret Flight

“Why didn’t Grandpa and Grandma come to my birthday party?” Hadas asked after the guests left. “You know that they live far away, on the other side of the ocean,” her dad reminded her. “But they love you very much and they’ve sent you a present.” This is the beginning of Hadas’s Secret Flight, a story about how Hadas, who lives in the United States, misses her grandparents who live in Israel.

It’s hard for a four-year-old girl to understand why the grandparents she loves so much can’t come to her birthday party. It’s also hard for her grandparents not be able to hug her on her big day. But Hadas is lucky. In the package they`ve sent her there’s a little fairy. Late at night, when her parents are sound asleep, the fairy wakes Hadas gently with her wand. Then she sprinkles some fairy dust and takes her on a magical flight to visit her grandparents’ home in Israel. And there, she gets to have a wonderful birthday party with them and all her cousins!
