Mr Mayor, Let Us Sing
In this rhyming story, a group of children prove they have the power to change their neighborhood for the better. When the greedy mayor decides to build a tall new building in the empty lot that the children love to use as a playground, the children decide to fight back. First, they talk to the school janitor and learn the power of civil protest. Then they plan a campaign, with signs and songs, against the mayor who is in the midst of an election year. And their funny, colorful protest succeeds: the mayor loses! The new mayor quickly sets out to build a park for the children and the whole city looks greener and prettier.
