Nadia

Nadia, age 13, is set on becoming a doctor. It will be hard work, and it is even more problematic for Nadia, an Arab girl. Nothing has prepared her for the culture gap that she discovers between herself and the other students. The village nurse encourages her, but warns her that the crisis will come when war or terrorism affect Israel. And so it is: a bloody terrorist attack in Jerusalem destroys the fragile bridge between Nadia and her Jewish classmates. In this insightful story, Ron-Feder-Amit presents provocative ideas and their practical consequences. Nadia has been made into a film that won critical acclaim.
