Princess, What Do You Want?
This is an enchanting and colorful fairytale about a beautiful princess who lost her willpower and desire to live because she loved wild animals and would not hunt them as her father commanaded. Princess Butterfly doesn`t want anything. She lies in her hammock in the palace garden all day. Her parents, the king and queen, are concerned and call upon the royal astrologer, who recommends that she be sent away from the palace. Only after she undergoes various experiences in the world outside the palace is there a chance that her willpower will return and grow.
Butterfly reaches a village and works hard there in the fields. She has only one friend, Shamgar the shepherd, and only one comfort, dancing. But her elderly landlady does not allow her to dance, for dancing may tire her and interfere with her work. Butterfly begins to find the willpower within herself and decides to leave the village and go into the forest, where she meets a troupe of actor-jugglers who are about to perform at the king`s palace. Butterfly wants to participate too, but one of the girls in the troupe envies her and slips sleeping powder into her drink. In the meantime Shamgar goes out to look for Butterfly and reaches the palace. From a mark branded on his hip, he discovers that he is of noble birth. When he was born the astrologer prophesied that he would inherit the empire from the present king — whereupon the king had the baby banished from the palace. Now, upon his return, Shamgar must marry the king`s daughter. Neither he nor anyone else at the palace is aware that the girl living in the palace is only pretending to be Butterfly…
As expected, everything returns to normal when the real Butterfly reaches the palace and exposes the other girl as a fraud.. Her will power returns with a vengeance.
