Tinturu, a Tiny Elephant

This delightful fairytale with a happy ending is written for anyone who feels helpless and small.

When Tinturu is a week old, hunters capture her mother, Queen Boadicea, and Tinturu is left on her own. When the hunters return the next day, they find her asleep and sell her to a circus. The circus owners approach old Mr. Tenderly, who agrees to take care of her on condition she won’t have to perform in the circus. As time passes, Tenderly gets sick so the circus owners put Tinturu in a cage. The elephant rages wildly all night and in the morning a boy called Milosz takes pity on her. The two run away from the circus, leave the city and get to a nature park. There they come upon a herd of elephants, and in the middle of it Tinturu sees Queen Boadicea. She has finally got her mother back.
