What Kind of Name Is Theodora?

Theodora and Dana are best friends who dream about being sisters. Theodora, nicknamed Tuti, lives with her mother and grandmother but without her father, whom she knows nothing about. Dana’s parents, on the other hand, both have demanding careers and are rarely at home. When they discover that Olga, Tuti’s cheerful and untidy grandmother, and Tzemach, Dana’s serious and neat grandfather, are both enthusiastic antique collectors, they decide to play matchmaker and bring them together, so they can really become sisters and make their dream come true.

Through the eyes of two girls on the threshold of adolescence, this delightful book combines romantic adventure, family events and historic tales about the early days of the State of Israel. It is also a suspense story with a number of mysteries: Will the girls manage to bring Grandpa Tzemach and Grandma Olga together? Will they find the tea set that belonged to Grandma Olga’s family in the antique markets? Why is Theodora named Theodora? And above all, who is Theodora’s father and what does the whole story have to do with the Jewish National Fund donation boxes?
