The Boy Who Wouldn’t Sleep Alone

This charming book deals with a common problem – children who are afraid to sleep alone. In a highly imaginative fashion, Mira Meir introduces a variety of stuffed animals into the little boy’s bed. At first, he brings his teddy bear into his bed and falls asleep peacefully. But then each night another frightened and lonely animal crawls into the little boy’s bed until there is no room left for him. Finally, he ends up sleeping on the floor. Eventually, the animals return of their own volition to their special places on the shelf – one at a time. Even the little boy’s teddy bear is placed on the shelf with a farewell kiss. The little boy has learned to sleep peacefully on his own. With great warmth and understanding, Mira Meir introduces children to the wonderful support that good friends can give and shows how they can help in the process of gaining maturity and overcoming obstacles.
